G. Kathy Erwood was born in
She worked at the local grocery store part-time during school. Kathy went on to work in the Hosiery Industry, which is one of the degrees that she had earned. “I could run a hosiery mill from one end to the other. And I did!” she says. She went from working a machine to running the company. Times came and times went and the hosiery industry just about dwindled. She went on to run an office for a furniture company, before they decided to close their doors. Finally she went to work for a textile company. “I love my job, but my true passion is to write,” she adds, “I love to use my imagination and paper is the best place to put it.”
Kathy’s passion started when she was in third grade. She won a poem contest that was ran throughout the entire elementary school. “I was shocked that I won because I had never won anything before and actually didn’t know I had it in me,” she tells. She has written numerous poems, since then, throughout the years.
She met her husband, Shane, while she was working in the plant of a hosiery mill in 1991. They went on to get married in March of 1993. They moved around several times throughout the years until they settled down in Maiden NC to have a family. In February of 1998 they had a beautiful baby boy named Elijah. This was a tremendous time for Kathy. She loved spending time with her son at home, but she had to go back to work to make ends meet. During her spare time she started writing short stories and selling articles to a local newspaper.
Kathy has had three young adult novels published. “Andy LoStone Adventures in Kill Devil Hills”, “Stepping Stones of War”, both published by PublishAmerica. Her third book, “The Mesner House” is published by Lulu.com.
